Mission
At Edify13 we believe in the power of everyday acts of advocacy and know that the first essential ingredient on the path to becomming an advocate is knowledge. That being said, In order for parents, teachers, students, and administrators to support and champion the free and appropriate education of all students, they must not only have access to the necessary information, but they must also be provided with the support necessary to understand how the language of policy impacts the day to day life of the members of a school community.

At Edify13, we believe that while knowledge is power, empathy gives us the strength to reject isolation and the belief that through collaboration and community we can dictate the tides of change.
The mission of Edify13 is to facilitate collaborative partnerships between parents and school communities in order to create Special Education programming that meets the unique needs of every student.

Edify13 believes that while these three words may be seemingly simple, they hold a profound truth. It is an injustice that accurate and accessible information about Special Education is scarce, and we reject the current system that leaves many parents, students, teachers and administrators in the dark about students as individuals, their legal rights and responsibilities, and how/where to acquire resources.
We assert that free, open, accessible, and accurate information, resources, and dialogue are the first essentials to improving current Special Education practices.

Edify13 envisions an inclusive public education system rooted in collaborative structures that empower parents and meets the needs of EVERY student.
Theory of Change
By equipping parents and school communities with the strategies and tools to form effective collaborative partnerships and unpack current Special Education policies, Edify13 will foster a public education system that meets the needs of every student.
We belive that this support must come through a collaborative community. An active support network that not only shares the same cause, but also concerns itself with the emotional, mental, and physical health of its members. A network that continually evolves and is enhanced by the addition of each new member. Edify13 knows that a single perspective and understanding is blind. Together we elevate one another and in turn, we push the standard for public education.
